Following the very sudden closure of a local post office in the Dublin 8 area a street meeting will take place next Tuesday. This street meeting will take place on this Tuesday 29th November 2016 outside this post office shop here in Rialtlo Dublin 8 at 6:30 Pm. This street meeting is been called by local eirgi councilor Damian Farrell on behalf of the eirigi: https://www.facebook.com/%C3%89ir%C3%ADg%C3%AD-DSC-Area-Rep-Damien-Farrell-1131521296893318/
The post office in Rialtlo here in the Dublin 8 area shut its door’s during the week for the final time. No notice was served to its costumers. Some of these costumers are elderly and when they went to pick up their weekly pensions a notice was displayed on the shop window informing the costumers to go to Dolphin’s Barn to collect their pensions. If that was not bad enough some of these pensioners who have to use walking sticks could not navigate the extra ten or so minutes without difficultly.
Local people have hit out over this sudden closure as they feel An Post did not give them any notice. The Post Office in Rialtlo, served the local community for years and it will be greatly missed. There are another two Post Offices in the area but they are further down in Dolphin’s Barn and Cork Street. This extra walk for the elderly is not fair as some of them have serve health problems.
The street meeting will take place directly outside Rialto Post Office shop this Tuesday 29th November 2016 here in the Dublin 8 area, and it will start at 6:30 PM.
