Press Release From Ringsend & Irishtown Community Center Dublin.

This is a press release which was issued yesterday Monday 7th May at the May Day parade in Ringsend & Irishtown area of Dublin 4.

There was a whole lot of noise in Dublin 4 on bank holiday Monday as Ringsend and Irishtown Community Center (RICC) Celebrated its 10th Annual May Day Parade. The parade was the finale of the (RICC) Community week where locals enjoyed events such as, afternoon tea dance, a pamper day, fun bingo, and a kids disco. The event marked the official end to winter and gave (RICC) a chance to showcase the many wonderful groups, clubs and organizations in the area. (RICC) marched alongside two marching bands, boats, youth clubs, football clubs, ladies clubs, their own boxing club and many, many more.

Then it was back to the center for live music, hotdogs, tea, coffee, bouncy castles, face painters, a mini farm, the inauguration of our lord mayor for 2018/2019 and even our local ice cream man. The parade attracts an attendance of over 1,200 people every year and it is a wonderful family day out.

As the Communion has fallen before the parade this year, we are delighted to bring back a time old tradition, whereby children were invited to march in their communion wear. Speaking at the event (RICC) manager Lorraine Barry said “each year the parade grows in abundance and for such a small town, there is so much going on in our community from sport, dance, and education, to activities for all ages. There is so many changes happening in our bustling little town and we embrace them with excitement.
