Part off public walkway taken away on St James Walk

Local residents living in and around the area off St James Walk public path way, here in the Fatima area of Dublin 8, have recently seen big changes to a public walk way. Its been alleged that the public path way directly behind St James Hospital that serves as a path way has been high jacked to make room for the builders for their building project on the campus site.

Local resident and eirigi Councillor for the area Damien Farrell has stressed that the area where the Luas also runs through it has less space than it did some years ago. Mr Farrell also confirmed that he also contacted (DCC) Dublin City Council and (Bam), Development Project Developer who is behind this building project and they have confirmed that it was granted permission with was is known as required permission and application. Damien also confirmed that he has approached an independent urban planner for help with this matter.

The area which is directly facing the Rialto Luas stop is very popular with local people who use the path on a regular basic, now have very little room to either walk, jog, or walk their dogs, as the Luas Line is very close. Only very recently on this line there was a horrible accident in which resulted in a death of a local woman.
