Film Review – Avengers Infinity War.

The first thing that has to be said about Avengers Infinity War is this; unless you follow most of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe, some references and events will go over your head.

That being said, it is a good movie to see even if one hasn’t had the time to binge watch the ten years’ worth of movies that have led into this.
As a Marvel fan, this movie is something that many of us have been waiting for, ever since we all watched the Avengers back in 2012. Now six years and many movies later, we’ve finally seen the main villain.
To non-Marvel fans, Thanos and his arrival is nothing more than another CGI enemy voiced
by a celebrity A-Lister (Josh Brolin) that’ll fight against a rabble of superheroes who have to work together, but the villain’s first appearance on the big screen is one of many things that steals the show.
The A-List cast, which includes and is not limited to; Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johannsen, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Middleton, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chris Pratt, Idris Elba, Chadwick Boseman, and many, many more.
The effects are top notch, which we’ve learnt to expect from the juggernaut that has become Marvel.
While the movie does switch scene and planet quite frequently, it does manage to keep a coherent story that is easy to follow for Marvel and non-Marvel fans alike.
Many actors and actresses could be said to have stolen the show in this movie, but it’s the fact that the near 20+ lead actors and actresses have managed to work together in a dynamic that causes many laughs and even a few tears at times. When it comes to the story, some non-Marvel fans will be lost.
What are the Infinity Stones? Why are they so powerful? Who is Thanos?
Thankfully, this movie manages to bridge the gap for non-Marvel fans who have been dragged to see the movie by a Marvel fanatic.
Finding faults is hard to do, but of course there are a few. The story has a lot of build up to it that will be confusing to someone who goes in blind. The characters’ dynamics can take some getting used to, but it is worth it to stick the movie. All two and a half hours of it.
In conclusion, Avengers Infinity War is a thrill filled  movie that will keep everyone on the edge of the seat.
When it comes to non-Marvel, it can be a lot to take in and you will be scratching your head at certain parts, but its certainly worth seeing.
Rating out of 5: 5 for a Marvel fan, & 3.5 for a non-Marvel fan just going to see the movie.
