Hosted by Hazel Robinson and Emma McGlynn.

A candlelight vigil will take place on Monday 12th February 2018 from 6 to 7:pm outside Our lady’s Children Hospital, Crumlin Dublin 12. This vigil is to highlight the children, and people who are caught up in the Irish health system either in our out of hospitals.

The text below was soured from original fb page invite:

A group of parents staying in Our Lady’s hospital for sick children at present, met each other and started telling each other their stories about their children.

A common denominator came up in all, as they talked about their heartache, sadness and frustrations .

Lack of support in home areas. Lack of bed accessibility when needed. Lack of transport and parking. Lack of proper isolation, in some cases. Lack of surgical times and the list goes on.

We want to show that we deserve and need change in drastic proportions. But unfortunately we feel the situation surrounding health is getting worse. With empty promises and ever braking hope for Our loved ones.

We are holding a candlelight vigil on Monday from 6 to 7 pm outside the hospital in the hopes that we will start to be taken seriously and with more urgency. It takes a lot of courage and bravery to take this steps. But we feel it is extremely important that our voices and our children’s crys are heard on a National scale.

We are asking for your support. Please don’t let us stand alone. Show you care for our elderly, our patients, parents, nurses & staff. If you can please come along, please do..
If you are a journey away, we would ask if you to could hold your own vigil in your local area.
Or if your health is prohibiting you from getting out. Please just light a candle at home and post a photo on social media. With #NotANumber or #Together We Are Stronger
For not just our children, but for the health and well-being of all the men, women and children around the country, suffering at the hands of this dysfunctional health service.
(To all attending. We’d just ask to be as vigilant as possible on cross infection. Take ever proper action to try and insure safety.. wash hand regularly, wear a mask if needs be and please refrain from attending if you are showing signs of flu ext… Thank you in advance)
